Tandy Wilson
The focus of Tandy’s current work is sheet metal. Her work includes
wall
art, architectural pieces, furniture and custom signage.
Tandy’s training is in architecture and design. She has a Bachelor's degree
in Architecture from the University of Arizona.
She worked as a graphic artist until 2004
when she discovered a process to put her work in sheet metal.
She uses a CNC plasma machine/cutter, various grinders, a welder, a propane
patina torch,
acid and non-acid patinas and lots of elbow grease to create
her work.
In 2009, Tandy started adding other materials in combination with the metal.
Look for combinations of metal, acrylic and fabrics in her upcoming work.
“I love the power of metal and the heat
that it takes to cut and color it.”
Each piece is designed and created by Tandy, including the cutting, grinding and heat patina coloring.
